NEW YORK--When Mark Sanchez went down with a knee injury in Thursday’s game against Buffalo, rivals of the New York Jets held their breath, fearing the airheaded rookie would be out for an extended period of time. However on Friday they received some encouraging news: Sanchez, who has a strained PCL ligament, should be fine. “Whew, that was a close one,” said Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo. “When he went down holding his knee it was like the breath was taken out of me. Then when I saw him limp off I was like ‘Oh God.’ But I guess he’s going to be okay – which is great because the Jets are only two games behind us. You'd hate to lose him at a time like this.”
