CAPE TOWN, South Africa--Friday afternoon’s World Cup Draw thingie was made momentarily interesting by a bomb threat that called in prior to the event. The threat turned out to be a hoax, however, and millions of Americans went back to not caring about whatever it was they were doing at that event. “And we interrupt our re-broadcast of the 1998 World Series of Poker to bring this breaking news," said ESPN's Brian Kenny. “There has been a bomb threat at that World Cup thing down in South Africa. Police are scouring the grounds for any foreign devices. All kinds of exciting stuff is happening and – oh, it was a hoax. Forget it. Apparently some journalist called it in. Hey, if it’s the media’s job to make these events more captivating, I’d say he did his job. Kudos to you, you nut case.”
