BOSTON--24 hours after learning he was traded from the Boston Celtics to Cleveland Cavaliers, the Nets 2018 first round pick took out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe thanking the city he has called home since 2013. The ad, which will appear in tomorrow’s edition, reads as follows: “To the Boston Celtics organization, including Danny Ainge, Wyc Grousebeck, and all of the players and coaches, as well as the Boston Celtics fans: thank you. I came here in 2013 as an afterthought, a throwaway piece of a trade that involved some of the biggest names in the sport, and over the years have grown and matured into the ridiculously valuable trading chip that you see today. My time in Boston has been an emotional roller coaster ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Next April, I will be used to select an actual basketball player and, essentially, cease to exist. Knowing that, I could not be happier that I spent most of my short life in Boston. Now I'm off to that hellhole Cleveland.”  In a tweet later, the Nets first round pick wished the best of luck to the 2018 Lakers and Kings protected first round picks, now owned by the Celtics, saying he was “honored to pass the torch to them.”
