Saints Concerned About Kicker’s Lifelong Dream Of Missing Super Bowl-Winning Field Goal |
February 4, 2010 |
MIAMI--Saints player and coaches today admitted to being “concerned” about kicker Garrett Hartley’s lifelong dream of missing the game-winning field goal in the Super Bowl. “It’s kind of odd that he has that dream,” said coach Sean Payton. “Most people dream about making the game-winning field goal, but he dreams about missing it. He’s like ‘Every since I was a kid I’ve had this dream of lining up for the game-winning field goal in the Super Bowl and booting it wide right, like my hero, Scott Norwood.’ Yikes. Scott Norwood? That's scary. The only thing that gives me the slightest bit of hope is that kickers tend to choke in clutch situation so maybe he'll make the kick by accident." |
