DENVER--Casey Wiegmann of the Denver Broncos currently has a 127-game starting streak, most among active NFL centers. The 36-year-old iron man plans to continue playing for as long as possible to delay his excruciatingly painful retirement marred by chronic ailments and overall physical decay. “I am proud of my streak. No center in the league can say they're as durable as me,” Wiegmann said. “Of course, that durability will all come back to haunt me when I retire. I mean, guys who have played three seasons have physical problems that last a lifetime. I can’t imagine what’s in store for me - Ah! My back! Cortisone shot! Cortisone shot! Aaahhh, yea, that’s the stuff. See, you don’t get this kind of treatment in retirement. That’s why I’m going to keep playing as long as possible.”
