SAN DIEGO--Recently released running back LaDainian Tomlinson, currently looking for a new home on a contender, is suddenly okay with Patriots coach Bill Belichick, whom he railed against three years ago. In an interview, Tomlinson called Belichick “a great guy.” “Bill Belichick is a great guy,” Tomlinson told Dan Patrick on Monday. “He is one of the best coaches around and it would be an honor to play for him. Sure we’ve had our differences in the past but that’s all water under the bridge. What’s important now is that I win a Super Bowl ring. I really don’t care who the coach is, as long as it’s not Norv Turner.” In addition to Tomlinson, unemployed linebacker Joey Porter, who vehemently hates Belichick, called the Patriots coach “badass” and said he would be “a blast to play for.”
