HARTFORD, CT--Indiana governor Mitch Daniels made good on a friendly wager with Connecticut governor Dan Malloy on Monday by turning over his wife Judy to the 55-year-old Democrat. The two men made the bet on the NCAA championship game between UConn and Butler, which UConn won, 53-41.

Governor Daniels surrendered his wife on Monday night, telling Malloy to “enjoy” but “send her back in one piece.”

“Well governor, you win,” Daniels said in a small joint press conference. “Congratulations on the victory and congratulations to the UConn Huskies. I hate to do it, but here’s my wife.  Go ahead, honey. Governor Malloy, I hope you enjoy your spoils. Rest assured, though, Butler will be back next year and hopefully I’ll be nailing some other governor’s wife. Not yours, though. No offense.”

Malloy said he looked forward to his roll in the hay with Mrs. Daniels.

“If she’s half as good as she looks, this is going to be a special night,” said a jovial Malloy. “But seriously folks, I just want to congratulate the Butler Bulldogs on a fabulous season. You got a helluva team and a lot to be proud of. My Huskies were just a little too much for you this year. Speaking of Huskies, I’ve got one right now frtom smelling that perfume. Yummy. Come to daddy, princess.”

Per the wager, Governor Malloy gets to spend one evening with Mrs. Daniels, returning her back to Governor Daniels at 9 am Tuesday morning. If UConn lost, Governor Malloy would have had to surrender a pot of New England clam chowder.

“It probably wasn’t the smartest bet I’ve ever made,” said Daniels. “But I just didn’t think I was going to lose. I felt like we were the team of destiny. My wife said, ‘Mitch, it’s possible they could lose.’ And I was like ‘Honey, leave the sports talk to the men.’ Well, now I have egg on my face. My only consolation is the knowledge that Democrats have small penises.”

As for Malloy’s wife, Tristin, she took the events all in stride.

“Ah, what are you going to do? A bet’s a bet,” she said while watching her husband duck into a limo with Mrs. Daniels. “I’m certainly not going to let my petty jealousy ruin a special night for my husband and the entire state of Connecticut. I've got my own plans for the evening. I’m actually going to go and celebrate with the team. Go Huskies! Who knows? Maybe if I can get Kemba Walker drunk enough, he’ll go home with me.”
